- Nationally known: Nationally known for veterinary medicine. Gives talks, writes articles for veterinary journals, writes articles for the national llama magazines, leads veterinary conferences, speaks at national llama organization's conferences, and in some cases has authored or edited books on veterinary medicine for llamas
- Regionally known: Well known for veterinary medicine regionally. Gives talks to and participates on vet panels for local llama associations. May also write articles on llama veterinary medicine, either for llama magazines or veterinary journals. Has been working with llamas for five or more years, has large llama clientele, and attends veterinary workshops on llama medicine to keep current.
- Very knowledgeable: Has been working with llamas for five or more years, has large llama clientele, and attends veterinary workshops on llama medicine to keep current.
- Experienced: Has been working with llamas for four or more years, has good sized llama clientele. May give talks and participate on vet panels for local associations.
- Known to work on llamas: Entent of expertise is largely unknown to the list maker, but veterinarian has been recommended by a llama breeder as being their vet. Vets in this category can range from limited experience to very experienced.
